Can You do a tutorial on how to make a wolf I love to see how it is done

  • sharaahu

when i render it its all black ,the text is!!!! YYYY??? i cant get it to fix

  • remo conan

I spoke too early, after about an hour I was able to troubleshoot that my render layer with the particle emitter was not added to the main scene and so when I animated, the glass particle shatter would only start and stop at frame 10…for some reason the lifetime of the particles only lasted for that 1 frame. Anyway thanks its a relief to finally complete one of your tuts! 50 mins of your tut really did push me to the limit for in real time i think i spent 5 hours on this over 2 days!

  • remo conan

Pricey! What you doing to me?! When I follow your settING up scene (AT 37MINS) for the domain and the smoke, I lose my glass particles? When I scrub the animation my particles do not appear at all, where did they go? I have checked that the scene is in the SCENE LAYER AND NOT IN SMOKE LAYER. Please help, this fracking tut has taken me almost 1 day and then some. the tut was good, and could do with more structure as far as length of time and also the haphazard approach is very confusing especially when u need to follow everything verbatim!!

  • Ed

Thank’s for share your knowledge, and your tips!

hey andrew i was watching your title animation video (the green one) and when i go to render the final result it says “invalid number of channels 6, must be <=2" please help!!!!

    • Gerald

I had the same problem. Changed Audio Codec from MP3 to AC3 and render worked.

  • Matthias

  • http://www.facebook.com/ratonbat Martin Batalla

When I try to make the smoke, it isn’t as big as the on you do… :/

  • Mike

    Hey Andrew,
Great tutorial! I have watched almost all of your tutorials and have no idea where to start on them. I downloaded the finished blend and changed the text and color. Thanks for the vids!

  • Alfie

I have a really annoying problem, when I move an object the camera moves, and when I move the camera the objects move, thus causing the two texts to unalign (despite being parented…)
    what have I done wrong?
Thanks, and I’m glad I’ve found your website

  • Ryan

    Hi Andrew,
Every time I try to make the smoke, it is very small and is more like a little ‘puff’ than a ‘gush’ of smoke like yours appears. I am not sure what I have done wrong?
    Any help is appreciated,
    Thanks :)

  • http://www.facebook.com/jacob.hanafin Jacob Hanafin

I am trying to change some of the effects on this blend file, and i downloaded the one you provide just because it is better then mine. So now that i have changed some effects and so forth i realized the smoke is still green but i have searched everywhere for the emitter and i cant find it. Help please.

  • HeyItsKD123

Silly Andrew, “fac” is short for factor. :D (10:20)

  • Brendan

your Download button want work. Please fix it.the site will never load.

    • alfi

Just follow the tutorial then XD

  • ranx

Hi Andrew was trying your tutorial but stuck at particles colision. It still goes through plane can’t get it to work.I’m using blender 2.63

    • NomoGenal / WhiteQerl

      1. go to plane giv it collision particle damping
      2. factor .7 random .5
      3 Particle Friction
      4 factor .7 random .5

if that doznt work select particle sistem go to physics and select “Size deflect”

i think that if you dont select size deflect in 2,63 particle in collision are going on the botom some bug or somting :)

      • ranx

thanx for reply tried your suggestion it didn’t work don’t know what else to do

        • ranx

Figured out what was wrong. I had the plane on layer two, it has to be on same layer as emitter. SMH :-[

thanx NomoGenal for your help !

Great tutorial Andrew keep it up!!!

          • NomoGenal / WhiteQerl

            hehehe :)

hi Andrew i just wona say tnx this is myfrst animation ever :) i m happy with result and chek it outh https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAEmAmZz8F0&feature=plcp

by the way i didnt wat to do partic.. that way you did but i get trepe render time when ther is 3 sphere’s and this with smoke ind background :)

  • http://none dan

I somehow cant get the animation to render all of the scenes. when I click on animation in the render tab, it only renders the only frame i’m on (which is the first one)
does anyone know what I’m doing wrong?

    • NomoGenal / WhiteQerl

1.go to compositing andd new render layer change his scene to smoke scene
2.add a mix node put it to “add”
3.combine smoke render leyer on secund and your last mix node from non smoke scene on first
4.and on last combine those 2 with viwer and compositing node

to get more better smoke result on my video blow i did a blur node of 5-5 and geted better results with youst smoke hd of 2

and by the way dont use so much of point lamps in smoke scene it will yous be to high color as you can se in my video

  • Andrew

When I change the color of one of the two texts (the regular and the outline) It changes them both at the same time so i cannot add a white outline and a green regular text.

    • Andrew

Anyone know how to fix that?

      • http://none dan

you need to make a new material or you hit Alt-D to make it a linked duplicate, which is different from SHIFT-D.

  • Zasek Xynanthum

When I try to combine the text and the rim, I get a “loop in parents” error. Can someone please help? Thanks!

    • http://none dan

you have probably created a parent with one of them. you can select one of them and hit Alt-P to cleat parent. do not worry about the options:just hit keep trans

  • Sergio

    Hey!

    I have a problem with sound….
i tried in all formats and nothing.

    • Kevin

Yea I was getting that too. It would work sometimes for me, but I eventually moved the project to Adobe Premier which works great.

  • Memborg

    Hey, Andrew.
    - I know this is somewhat an old tutorial, but as I went through the tutorial I noticed how some of my particles (or all of them) suddenly “stood up” after they had landed.
    - I figured out how to solve this problem though:

In the Particles pannel under the Rotation settings you have to set the Angular Velocity to “None” instead of “Spin”.
    - I made this in the 2.62 version, so I do not know if it was the answer you were looking for back then, but I figured I might as well post it. :)

    • Memborg

My post above left me with another that did not occur until I restarted Blender today. The particles just behave weirdly if the angular velocity is set to “None”.
      - However, and I don’t know just how exactly that works, but I changed the angular velocity to “Spin” and turned up the value to 0.2.
I noticed how the particles started spinning so I turned it back down to zero and only after I had done that my particles behaved as they were supposed to in the first place.
      - Probably a few bugs, which I am hoping they will fix.

  • upriser

    hi ,

I just had tried this tutorial, but I have a problem with my smoke.. everything is fine, bur when i render it, my smoke starts at the top of the animation..

    please help me

  • Nabeel

for creating the vid from the PNGs WindowsMovieMaker does a pretty good job if you leave each frame on for around 0.25 seconds and dont use transitions- and you can add sound etc. but mainly the exporting of the video is much simpler

  • sharif

Many thanks for this…….i will request please more video tutorial upload.

  • Dan

45 minutes to get through 8 minutes of your video. No disrespect it’s great you took the time to do this but its impossible to follow you as you are going so quick and using so many keyboard short-cuts. Great video but not a great tutorial!

    • Ach Hadda

you just need to know the baseces

  • http://mdkieran.com mdk

Awesome tutorial!! I followed it putting my own spin on things as I went along, It’s almost finished but there is just one problem, the particles all jitter around and I don’t know how to fix it, any ideas? http://youtu.be/M4juEBDfO80

    • http://mdkieran.com mdk

Had to change ‘Angular Velocity’ to ‘None’ under rotation in the particle emitter, I noticed this ‘bug’/oddity in other peoples animations on here, just looks kind of weird, but sorted it now! Hope that helps someone else, but anyway, here is my final intro http://youtu.be/YAv3UEb8OCI Thanks for the tutorial mate, enjoyed it.
