I know the competition is long over, but I ask the following question for further understanding:

When this competition says it must in some way relate to video games (obviously), does this mean we make a scene based off an existing game, or would we be required to create a scene that looks like it could be in a video game?

@ghansham:disqus You must submit the image on the blender artist forum. The link is
    http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?280078-Blender-Guru-Competition-Video-Games
but you must have an account there which is fairly easy to set up. Post your image in a comment on the thread and you have entered.

@WillTellR:disqus As long as your image is a new creation which has been started after the competition started and it is your own creation you may enter it into the competition no matter how far you are with the project.

Is it okay to submit your image to for example deviantART before the results is public? if not, is it okay to post something like a no-material render there? :)

  • BlenderCyclesRender

Is human modeling a must? Also if i decide to dedicate my work to say Resident Evil, or pretty much any HorSur genre game, how can i possibly avoid gore, could you list out what exactly cant be depicted in renders that are devoted to that genre . . .

  • Super Mario

Are we allowed to use models that we had already created/ collaborate with friends?

    • Nathan Ferguson

He says in the Guidelines “Your image must be a new creation, not an existing project”
