i tried this and had no problem up until the jagged line is made and im supposed to select one half of the sphere. help?

please help me!!! I made this myself and spent some time doin lighting and making a whole scene like andrews. but whenever i render i still see the hard edges on my smooth surfaces. i even tried it on andrews and got the same result. can you help me?

great but after pressing “o” and then render selected
i press “g” and “s” but nothing happen but i have still selected on point
and i don`t no what´s wrong :D
