23 simple, useful blender tutorials you may have missed

Over the past few weeks, my inbox has been growing with requests for specific blender tutorials. I’ve met a lot of these requests, but unfortunately I can’t complete them all. So if I haven’t made the tutorial you requested, my apologies.

The good news however is that a lot of the tutorials that have been requested have already been made by other members of the community.

I’ve compiled this list of the most useful blender tutorials that I know of. I’ve gathered these from various sources including vimeo channels, twitter, forums, youtube and other insider sites that I know of.

I hope you can take something from it!

^ It would only download text and image but not other kind of files such as stream videos.

You can download video tutorials with a browser extension like downloadhelper (www.downloadhelper.net). For playing all kinds of videos I can recommend VLC player, freely available at http://www.videolan.org.

I am impressed with you knowledge and speed with which you work Blender. I have a brother and sister who live in Oz, and I’ve been 54 times… love it there! Anyways, I’ve recently been working through some of your tutorials and am having an issue that I cant seem to solve… My particles don’t seem to want to collide with my floor plane… Is there anything that I could be doing wrong… seems pretty straight forward, and I’ve tried a number of different variations, but nothing is working… Is that an issue with the new 2.65a release?

I am so not a master of blender (or anything near that) but try clicking the collision button of your floor and on the mesh which emits the particles

Hi, I wanted to watch the tutorials posted, but I guess your video’s have been removed from vimeo… any way to watch them somewhere else?

  • Jonathan

I watched your video that you did of the collapsing highrise building and have ever since been wondering on how you did the rubble placement. I know that you used the physics engine…I think.. lol I think a tutorial on how to do what you did with the rubble would be a great addition to your tutorial set!

I tried the 4th one (“Destroying a Mesh With External Particles”) nearly 16 times and i am not getting the actual result…..

Can you help or can you put a tutorial on this….

I’d love to see a tutorial on animating a sky with clouds for an architectural exterior animation. Just the basics on the work flow, how to get something nice and how it would work with real world scale.
